Our Reforged series are spoons which began life as a much different spoon. I find these old spoons at thrift stores and purchase spoons that are unattractive but are made of thick enough stainless steel to have potential as a different utensil.

This reforged spoon is made from a stainless steel table spoon. The donor utensil had a plain, boring handle and a bowl that varied widely in thickness and needed reshaping. I start forging the spoon in one piece because it’s easier to handle, and then cut the handle from the bowl when it’s time to forge and shape the areas where they attach. After extensive forging of the bowl and handle, I hand polished and reattached the pieces with two solid copper rivets. The finish on these spoons showcases the hammer blows from forging, highlighting traditional blacksmith aesthetic with the modern advantage of stainless steel that wont rust in your kitchen.

This reforged stainless tablespoon is 8” long, with a 1.75” x 2.25” bowl.
