This reforged skimmer was so much fun to make. We found an old skimmer with a cheap sot-welded handle that was a little beat up. I heated and forged the entire piece, removed the old handle, and forged up a very expressive new handle from 464 “naval” brass.

Our Reforged series are spoons which began life as a much different spoon. I occasionally dig through utensils at thrift stores or yard sales and purchase spoons that are unattractive but are made of thick enough stainless steel to have potential as a different utensil.
