Valentine Reforged Long-Handled Scoop

Valentine Reforged Long-Handled Scoop
This little scoop began life as a cheap stainless ladle intended for industrial kitchen use. I removed the old spot-welded handle carefully and re-drilled the attachment point for my own solid copper rivet. The bowl was heated to forging temperatures to give a dark oxide layer to the outside, and the inside was then polished back to a bright stainless finish for contrast. I forged a thin brass handle to match the small bowl.
Our Reforged series are spoons which began life as a much different spoon. I occasionally dig through utensils at thrift stores or yard sales and purchase spoons that are unattractive but are made of thick enough stainless steel to have potential as a different utensil.
9.5” long with a 1.6” bowl
