This skimmer is possibly the largest to leave our workshop, the bowl being over 4.5 inches wide with plenty of holes. It was a challenge to remove the old spot-weldedhandle without damaging the bowl, but in the end I managed to get it separated and forge both sides of the entire bowl surface. The character-filled piece was then attached to a new, long brass handle that transitions from a forged octagon into a delicate taper.

Our Reforged series are spoons which began life as a much different spoon. I occasionally dig through utensils at thrift stores or yard sales and purchase spoons that are unattractive but are made of thick enough stainless steel to have potential as a different utensil.
