December Forged Copper Sugar Spoon
December Forged Copper Sugar Spoon
This is our first ever spoon forged from one piece of solid raw copper. While copper can be very soft, it’s tricky to forge due to how the material conducts heat. The resulting finish is worth the effort, showing beautiful red-orange and black from forging. The finish can be maintained using metal polish, or the piece can develop a patina over time and use. Either way, this spoon will be an heirloom for generations to come.
This is also the 17th spoon in our daily spoon series, and is stamped “017” on the handle. The Daily Spoon project is a new undertaking where we create a unique new utensil every single day in an effort to push creativity and explore new ideas. Each spoon is numbered in the order of the day they were created, so each piece is completely unique.
