May Reforged Slotted Servers
Part of why we like to do slotted spoons for reforge projects is that they can have such varying character. Here are three very different takes on reforged slotted spoons. The cutouts, size, shape, and thickness all influence what decisions are made when creating the new handle from raw materials.
The left spoon features a very thin and light steel bowl with plant-inspired cutouts mated with a thicker forged stainless handle by three copper rivets. The light bowl and heavy handle make for a very comfortable balance. 12” long
The center spoon shows a nice floral styled cutout with a thin, long bronze handle and two solid copper rivets. 11” long with a 2” x 3” bowl.
The right spoon has large modern styled cutouts paired with a long and lightweight titanium handle. A strong patina from forging in the bowl contrasts nicely with the bright, clean copper rivets. Nearly 12” long.
Our Reforged series are spoons which began life as a much different spoon. I occasionally dig through utensils at thrift stores or yard sales and purchase spoons that are unattractive but are made of thick enough stainless steel to have potential as a different utensil.
