Summer '24 Ladles
Summer '24 Ladles
Here we have four completely unique ladles in different styles, showing off the many possibilities of forged stainless steel.
The left ladle has a deep blue forged stainless bowl attached to a 45-degree forged bronze handle with two brass rivets. Overall length is 9” with a nearly 3” wide bowl.
The center left ladle features a carefully reforged and reshaped stainless bowl, with hammer marks minimized and removed to allow for the slight polish. A wide, comfortable forged bronze handle brings this one to the longest overall length of 10.5” with a 3.5” wide bowl.
The center right ladle has a slightly asymmetrical bowl with deep hammer forge marks in the center that fade to a slight polish around the sides, matched with a delicately forged bronze handle. 9” long with a 3.25” bowl.
The right ladle features a tapered, wide bronze handle attached at a low angle to an extremely colorful bowl, showing purple, blue, green, pink, and gold colors from forging. 10” overall length with a 3” bowl.
Our Reforged series are spoons that began life as a much different spoon. I occasionally dig through utensils at thrift stores or yard sales and purchase spoons that are unattractive but are made of thick enough stainless steel to have potential as a different utensil. The steel is heated and “reforged,” altering the shape, texture, and bringing out the beauty and colors in forged steel while retaining the stainless quality of the original spoon.
